Exam blueprint update policy
Exam blueprints and syllabi change, and content that does not change with them becomes misinformation. This policy names the official sources we monitor, the deadlines we hold ourselves to when they change, and where every resulting revision is recorded.

The official sources we monitor
We monitor the primary specification each certification body publishes for its exam:
- CPA — the Uniform CPA Examination Blueprints published by AICPA & CIMA.
- CMA — the CMA Exam Content Specification Outlines published by IMA.
- CIA — the CIA Exam Syllabus published by The IIA.
Alongside the specifications themselves, we track the bodies' official announcements of upcoming changes and effective dates. We monitor these organisations as independent official publishers; Certuvo is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them.
Impact assessment within 14 days
When a certification body officially announces a blueprint or syllabus change, we complete an impact assessment within 14 days of the announcement. The assessment identifies every affected guide, tool and practice item — using each page's stored sources and each question's blueprint mapping under the question validation methodology — and records what must change and by when. Affected pages are flagged update required in the CMS from that point until their revision is reviewed and published.
Update timelines
Our commitment is anchored to the official effective date:
- Where the certification body's lead time allows, affected content is updated, re-reviewed and republished before the change takes effect, so candidates preparing for the new version are never reading the old one.
- Where an announcement leaves little or no lead time, affected content is updated within 30 days of the change taking effect, and flagged pages state in the meantime that a revision is under way.
Updates pass the same three review stages as new content under the content review process; urgency does not waive review.
Where revisions are recorded
Every blueprint-driven revision leaves two public records: a dated entry in the affected page's own change history describing what changed and why, and an entry in the site-wide content changelog. The last-reviewed date on the page updates when the revision is published. Nothing is silently rewritten.
Confirm effective dates with the certification body
These are our internal deadlines, published so you can hold us to them — they are not a substitute for the official record. Effective dates, transition rules and testing windows are set solely by AICPA, IMA and The IIA, and can themselves change. Before scheduling an exam or making decisions that depend on a change taking effect, confirm the dates directly with the certification body through the links above. If you find our content lagging an official change, report it through the corrections policy.
